They made a business decision to close a store that was making money and increasing sales. I think a big driving factor was the lease being up on their building. They didn’t want to invest in a new one at this time and they didn’t want to enter into a long-term lease on an old building that needed a lot of work. I don’t believe prices are sky-high in Willies and would argue most people don’t know the prices of other stores. If you are a comparison shopper, good for you. The owner of Willies would be the first to tell you they can’t compete with the Wal-Mart’s of the world. Finally, I would encourage you to have community dialog on my performance. I always welcome constructive criticism. However, I left Breckenridge to take the job in Morris. If not, I would still be there helping them struggle with flood protection.
